Flight delayed for 3 hours... this is the first flight of the day.

Did get an upgrade to biz class

Waiting in the biz lounge trying to think of a reason why drinking free booze in the morning is ok.

Frankly I can't think of any....

You're flying--that's reason enough to have a little nip.

It's actually late enough now that I'm tempted.

A) It's free.

B) You're not at work.

C) You're about to spend several hours in a metal tube at 36,000 feet.

 D) You have several dozen (hundred?) colleagues who are dealing with impending/actual start of semester who would have hit the bottle at 10.27 this morning given half a chance. Do it for them!

D) If you combine it with juice (orange, grapefruit, or cranberry) it's brunch-appropriate!

My local airport offers a "breakfast and a pint" deal.

I think early morning alcohol is expected when flying....one way of of dealing with the tedium.

I've also seen it in at least one English airport.

Wonder what the situation is in Gatwick - will be looking for breakfast about 8 on Monday...
