Does anyone have experience with Zoloft? My doctor just put me on it for depression and anxiety, but I couldn't get a clear sense from him how long it would take to see effects.

I often go back and forth with anxiety and depression and my old tricks aren't working now. I'm going to try some of the ones mentioned on this thread but any additional ones would be helpful.

It depends on the individual, as well as on whether the dose is appropriate/high enough. It's not quite like allergy medication (easy to identify when nose stops running), but maybe a bit more retrospective: hmm, I feel less anxious than I did two weeks ago, but maybe not a single moment when you suddenly feel less anxious. If you can't feel any difference after a week or so, it's probably worth contacting the doctor to ask about increasing the dosage (some like to wait two weeks, but that's a loooong time in the middle of a semester), but not to give up on it.

Thanks Professor Plum. Its good to have a benchmark for myself. It is hard waiting when in the midst of so much work but at least I feel I'm moving forward. Thanks!
