Does anyone know anything about this university. It's in the Balkans, and this has given me pause for thought.

Hi, I don't know much about it, except that it has been in existence for over 10 years and it has a good reputation in Croatia. You don't need to worry about region so much as who is running the place (the president) and how much power s/he has over faculty. Try to find out that info and do a google search. Also, ask HR if they can put you in touch with existing faculty to chat about the school. Usually, that is the most helpful info one gets.

Thank-you for your helpful reply. I was aware that it has been there for over 10 years. I'm somewhat puzzled at the paucity of information, good or bad, about what it's like to work there. Over the course of time usually someone has something to say, but not in this case. I'm hoping to find someone who has worked there and left.

No one knows anything, despite 138 reads. To my way of thinking that can't be good. Given where it is, I'm signing a new contract and remaining where I am. I won't be checking this thread again.

O.K., I lied. However, 427 reads and still no one has a comment. Curiouser and curiouser!

I don't know anything about the university, but Croatia doesn't generally have as many problems as say, oh, Bosnia Herzegovinia.
If the school is located in Zagreb, you won't even know you're in the Balkans. It's practically Italy.

O.K., 600 and counting, and I'm reminded of that old Laugh-In routine, "I know nothing, nothing". While I'm certain that nothing could be like Bosnia, why is Croatia so different?

I am also curious about the reasons for not finding any feedback about some universities. It certainly does not appear as a good sign.

Hi,
I don't know anything about RIT Croatia but I am half Croatian and half Austrian. I have worked a few months in Zagreb (that was a long time ago) and have visited the country many times, the last time in 2010. Let me know if you have any questions.

Well, as they say, the beat goes on, and apparently on and on and on. Does anyone still read Calvin and Hobbes? Maybe the place has been transmogrified.

I must confess, I'm truly amazed. Nearly 2000 reads of this thread and still no one has entered a comment about the university. I wonder why; are there any opinions?

In high school I had a first generation Croatian classmate. Nice guy, I guess, but I am second generation Slovenian. And you know how that goes. We drifted apart in the early 80's.
