Regarding the sleep issue, I have a big problem with snapping awake at 4 or 5 in the morning, then not being able to go back to sleep.  This occured before the Effexor (Venlefexine) and also after.  So, I do Effexor 50 mg at 10 and 5 during the day.  At night, I do Trazadone 100 mg at bedtime, Melatonin 5 mg time release, and Ambien 10.  These meds let me sleep through the night.

Ambiem = waking up an hour or two after going to bed for the night, doing strange things, and not remembering them, for me at least.

So it's been just over 2 weeks since I started Prozac.  Now I kind of like it.

I'm sleeping OK, and waking up is much, much easier.  I think before Prozac, upon waking I'd immediately start worrying I didn't get enough rest, without even being conscious of being worried.  Now I just get out of bed.   In fact, I'm finding that in many ways I was always worried before.

I've also discovered that I (over)ate to soothe or numb myself.  Now, I don't need to snack, even if I feel a little hungry.  Before, I was (again) worried that if I didn't eat, I would get a headache/snap at someone/get nauseous or whatever.  I've lost about 6 lbs since starting Prozac.

So weird...
