Preliminary exam in the Sciences

Hello all, I'm just finishing up my second year in a PhD program and the prelim is coming up in 3 months. Although I'm going to talk to other students and faculty in my department about their prelim experience, I was wondering if any of you had advice or personal stories that you'd like to share about how your preliminary went.

I'm studying for a math qual that happens in about 5 weeks. It's sort of horrible.
