There must be some way, but a search of the "Help" section did not easily reveal it (if it's there).  Some way to what?

I don't want to eliminate them for the moment with the "Mark all as read" option.  That vanishes them for the moment, but they are the living dead and will return.  That is, if there is a new reply to a subject, it'll show up again next time you check in.

So what do I want?  To be able to remove "Subject" topics from "new replies to your posts" for good. There are subject topics I posted once in, months, MONTHS ago, and in which I have no further interest, yet "new replies" to them come to me over and over, and seem to be as adherent as a wart.  Well, there are ways to remove warts; is there a way to, say, get rid of ALL the old "subjects" so you no longer receive new replies?  Aside from starting a new account, of course.

There is no option for doing this. Some forumites use socks when posting on threads they want to respond to but don't want showing up in their unread replies forever.

Speaking of unread replies, the links to select "unread topics" and "unread replies" have disappeared from my forum access in the past few days, across multiple computers. Where'd the links go?

Elsie, you see where the date is across from where it says "Hello <moniker>" at the top of the fora where those buttons usually are? There's a little box with a plus sign in it beside the date. Click that, and the links should come back.

Chaos is right. I will further add that this lack of option is not something that the CHE mods have decided to enable on this site. It is a universal feature of the software on which the site runs, so petitioning for change will do no good at all. Even if they wanted to change it (and I have no idea how they feel about it), they would be unable to do so.
