Experiences with Service-Learning?
«

Hi, I work for the largest child-philanthropy program in the country, the Penny Harvest. At the core we run a service-learning model in over 800 public schools in NYC.
The Penny Harvest has served as an entree to Service-Learning world for me and to my surprise, the concept of Service-Learning was originally designed for university students to flex their critical thinking skills. I understand that we at the Penny Harvest are in the minority when applying this program to children, but I'm curious as to the effects for participants at the HigherEd level.
Would anyone care to share their thoughts and/or experiences? Thanks!

Is child-philanthropy like child labor?
And who's HigherEd?
