I am a minority and I have been teaching at an urban institution for a few years.  I was told by a friend and colleague that someone alluded to the fact that there were too many caucasian people working in my department and not enough "color". 

I'm absolutely speechless and kind of disgusted.

I can't expand too much, but I can tell you that the "big cats" on the top seem to want to hire more minorities to be on the management team, while slowly saying "goodbye" to the caucasian managers.

I just tried to say 'goodbye' as slowly as I could, and I managed about 25 sec. before I ran out of breath. Let's hope your "big cats" can do better than that. I understand that swimming can help increase lung capacity significantly, which should allow them to say 'goodbye' even slower than I could manage.
