i read about 7-10 pages of this thread. i am very thankful this issue was raised and that so many chimed in the way they did. as a newbie and a grad that will soon be on the job market, i am astonished by the crazy questions the seasoned ones here say i could be asked. and i am SO very glad i know this now, rather than later! i'm also glad to know some of those questions will really sting, be highly unprofessional, hurtful and downright malicious to borderline illegal. it's good to not be blindsided by this! i really appreciate all the posts. it was a great reality check from all ends. and sorry to WCG to have to endure it, but lots of us have learned from you sharing this experience.

Welcome, janina.  If you're going on the job market, then you'll want to acquaint yourself with your shift key, as we academics are much happier when you use standard capitalization.  In fact, the rules of the fora require it, and so, undoubtedly, will the SCs looking at your application materials.
