The Society for Cinema and Media studies conference starts this week just as Mardi Gras ends (brilliant or idiotic? I haven't decided yet). 

I've never been to NoLa and I'm looking forward to trying shrimp etouffee for the first time. 

Oh, and also all of the brilliant papers and panels.

Anyone else going?

I'll be there -- leaving Snowy Town in Cold State for New Orleans tomorrow.

I don't know how to dress for temperatures above freezing any more.

But I'm willing to learn!
