In any event, a quick scan of this year's wiki shows it to be particularly uninformed;  I could fill in the short lists of several schools there just off the top of my head with more complete lists than the ones actually appearing.

This can hardly be shocking to you, given your claims that appearing on the wiki is harmful to a candidate. If you and others in power expect candidates to actively police the wiki to scrub all appearances of their names, then of course the wiki will not have names.

I am neither a person with much power nor someone who is going to ding a strong candidate because some stuck them on the wiki; I don't even believe in doing a web search of candidates (as others on this forum do).  I think applications should stand by themselves.  I was simply pointing out a reality, on a thread aimed at a young job hunter.

I tell my teenager roughly the same thing about facebook. - DvF
