Bringing kids to Dubai: Experience or Opinion?

Hello,
Sorry this topic may not quite fit in with this forum, but I am interviewing shortly for an asst. professor position in Dubai and need some perspective. My wife and I have two children under five years old. We lived in Kuwait for two years (prior to having children) and while fun for adults, the parks were pathetic, streets very kid-unfriendly, and otherwise little to do outside. I've only had two short visits to Dubai; are there kid-friendly areas or things to do for them? I don't want them essentially living indoors, going to the malls on the weekends. Are there any good American/British schools that cost less that AED 30,000.00 per year (my allowance)? Thanks for any info,
-Josh

Josh, I see no reason why you shouldn't accept a position in Dubai if you have children. I worked there for several years and, though I do not have children, sense that Dubai is a very "children-friendly" place. About half of my expat colleagues had children with them. There are those who will say that Dubai is a terrible place to live and work but I think it would be a great experience for a couple of years.
Dubai has great parks, the beaches are wonderful and reasonably deserted. I have no idea what school costs are, however.

Thanks for the response, Petrella. I found that the website TimeoutDubai.com has a kids section with all kinds of related activities.
