Prytania, the Foracle

Oh why would you moderators pin the New Atheist thread?

I can't for the life of me figure out how anyone could think that was pin worthy.

Not only is it not pin worthy, it should be allowed to sink down the list and die.

And who does the pinning, anyway? Moderators or their minions?

The Jedi mind tricks thread in Classroom is much more useful, and it's not pinned.

I bet someone is writing a CHE column based on comments in the New Atheists thread.

Good.  Maybe it'll crawl back under its rock now.

I so wish there was a way to kill that thread with fire.  It's made me ashamed for everyone involved.

Hey.  I'm one of them.  It's an interesting thread, if contentious.  It just didn't have to be pinned.

There are some really interesting conversations in that thread, but you have to dig through pages of non sequiturs and moronic "jokes" to get to them.  It's really too bad.

My joke was not moronic.

Really, that thread does nothing more than give some of the biggest wastes of space here a venue in which they can play Intellectual Keyboard Warrior. If there was a way to make it so that they could see their own "contributions" and yet no one else had to,* then it would be the perfect holding pen.

*such as, say, updating the forum software to something newer that three years old so that we can have Ignore. Just a thought.

You always have something nice to say about everybody. For the life of me, I don't know why you hang around here.

What's a pin, please?

It makes a thread always stay at the top of a board. "Welcome to the Fora" and "Paralysis Analysis" are examples of pinned threads.
