Research Presentation
«

I am scheduled to give a research presentation in the next 3 weeks. I have never done one but based on what I have found out, it seems like the talk is more about you presenting the material well with a concrete plan to a mixed audience, while highlighting short term plans. Am I right?
I have already given the title of my presentation, now my second question is, I am still unclear as to what they want, should I ask the chair what they are looking for? Would asking hinder my chances of landing the position?

Moving this question to the job search forum would probably increase your chances of getting helpful answers.

I would ask because expectations do vary. I assume this is for a job. Some people want a discussion of research plans and some a "seminar" that would be like an extended conference presentation. Getting it right is important.
