I seem to remember that one of the member-moderators asked us not to respond on threads where the original post was from a spammer, because that made it harder for them to remove the thread?

That was me, and we can still remove it -- but we have to remove the whole topic, including the posts of people who have replied (either seriously or in jest).

I seem to recall though that that was a reason to post on spam threads, because it would be deleted.... I don't think anyone can have a reasonable expectation that their comments on a thread started by a spammer would be retained when the spam is zapped. Just nuke 'em all.

Yup - this is the beauty of posting on such a thread--the certainty that it will vanish.

And it's quite the night for spammers this evening!
