I interviewed with a search committee for an administrative position and a week after my interview I was called and told that I was selected as a finalist and would have to interview with the Dean.  I interviewed with the Dean and after two weeks of not hearing anything, I contacted the hiring manager to check on the status.  I was told that the Dean hadn't made a final decision at the time.  It's now been a little over three weeks since my last interview and I still have not heard of a hiring decision.  Does the hiring process at universities generally take this long?  Is it possible that I could still be in the running?  Thanks in advance for any feedback about this matter.

I was also interviewed for an admin. position recently.  Rest assured, the process can take a long time (long - as in 10 o's long).  A position was posted in February, I interviewed in November, the position is still not filled.  Could be any number of reasons.  Unless you are informed otherwise by the hiring committee or by HR, you're still in the running.
