Confused and sad. Or happy. I'm not sure...

Gah. The high winds MTG reported have arrived in My State. They woke me up and were strong enough to warrant checking online for any alerts. Now I'm waiting for Bioette to wake up and dash for cover in my bed. And since the alarm is set to go off at 6, I think my night is essentially over. Ugh. I'm tired.

I am sorry to hear about Tessa, MTG. Those decisions are always brutal.

Amlithist, I'm glad you came through the storms okay. What you faced sounds terrifying. I hope you were able to get some sleep overnight.

We had a wild night, too--winds over 70 mph with very exciting lightning and thunder. There was hail in areas around us, and a couple of funnel clouds too. Lots of smallish tornadoes fairly close, and the power was out from 8:15 last night until just a little bit ago. Now it's 45 degrees and overcast, with another bout of storms predicted for tomorrow night.

Wild times around here, for sure.

MsP, MTG, and Slinger, I'm glad we all came through it relatively unscathed.

Gah--it's April 20, and I'm sitting in my office in my thermal flowered shirt with a thermal big shirt/jacket over the top, and I'm STILL cold.  It was 36 freakin' degrees on my car thermometer when I left.  WTF?  After 87 yesterday?  We'll probably all have pneumonia by the weekend (and yes, I know, viruses cause colds etc. . . . still).

I feel bad for folks with little ones--as you said, rain's in the forecast virtually all weekend, and cool temps.  (I remember many an Easter when I made the girls their little frilly dresses, then took them to church in those dresses over tights and under winter coats, hats, and mittens!)  Guess  the bunny will have to hide the eggs in the house this year!

Remember Mrs. Whatsit in Madeleine L'Engle's A Wrinkle in Time sitting down in the Murrys' kitchen and declaring "wild nights are my glory" and saying she'd been "blown off course"?

You just made me remember one of my favorite scenes in one of my favorite books.

Whither Canada?

We got about 1 cm of wet snow, and now it's ice pellets and freezing rain.  Doesn't really look terribly April-ish from where I'm sitting, I must admit.

This will be us, exactly! (well, minus the church)

It's one of mine, too--and I've been channeling her all year with my newfound affection for shawls and scarves!

Gaah.  More snow - big, fat flurries, which won't stay long - but really!
