Working on an post grad degree as an employee

Is it possible to work on a post grad degree as an employee of a UK university? I noticed that one of the universities I applied to offers a tuition waiver program as a benefit. I've never seen this offered before so I didn't think it was possible. I'd love to get a Masters degree, especially if my employer is helping me pay for it too! In the U.S. its pretty common for university employees to work on additional degrees while employed. Thanks in advance for your help!

I know of a number of people who have done this, though in two cases they did not finish the degrees because mounting pressure of work made it impossible for them to get to classes. In all cases the boss of the employee had to give permission, and the employee had to meet the standard admission requirements.

Ditto to what Scotia said. I've seen several people do it, but in all the cases where they were successful, they were taking degrees in something that was related to their work (educational technologist doing a PhD in Instructional Technology, support technician doing an MPhil in robotics/automated control) and they received specific support from their department.
