RN's can enter the profession with either associate's degrees, bachelor's degrees, or occasionally master's degrees (for career changers). Associate's programs will eventually be phased out, but owing to a shortage of nurses, there is no rush to do that.
OP, my suggestion is to wait until you are hired, or at least offered a job, and then and only then, network with your chair and talk to the nursing department chair about what possibilities exist for your spouse. It would be pure speculation on our part to comment on the likelihood of transfer or of acceptance into the program, not being familiar with both programs in detail and the policies of the new school.
