I'm looking for suggestions and examples of post-PhD (or post-master's) university affiliation, and what the title of this kind of affiliation would be.  The reason for such affiliation is that some graduates have not found full time jobs at other institutions, sometimes because they are not on the job market (yet).  But they may be working on a grant funded project or submitting journal articles, where affiliation is required or desired.  Other than access to the library and computer lab, say, I am not asking about funding these graduates like post docs.  (Just to be clear.)   The kind of affiliation I have in mind would be given upon request, not competitively.  Titles I've come up so far with are fellow and visiting scholar.

Thanks,

Z

I did this for a former post-doc of mine, and the title was "visiting researcher".
