Hi,

Can anybody tell me what it is like working for HCT in Dubai, specifically Dubai Women's College?

My husband was offered a position there and I would like to find out some more info on it..

Also how do you go about negotiating salary, but all accounts their offer is on the low end and he should renegotiate for a little bit higher monthly salary, but I'm not sure how to approach this without offending anybody...

Please help

thnx

I wouldn't recommend the modern HCT at all. Since the 'new' Vice Chancellor took over in 2005, the place has started to resemble a shooting range - indiscriminate firings all over the place!

Always negotiate - and expect to have a counter offer a bit lower than the salary you requested.  Be sure to provide reasons as to why you should have a higher salary - perhaps they overlooked his "extensive experience in . . . . . " etc - or the way his research dovetails with the mission of the university / dept etc etc.
