I went back and read the Weil article. I got a little concerned, but considering this has been going on for almost 20 years, I'm pretty sure it's not a 'tumah' nor epilepsy. Thank goodness. I do have sinus issues, but never had a real infection, so I'm not sure it's the sinuses.   I'm gonna opt for the ghost thing.
