For some reason, I don't think that any of those three will evoke self-massaging on the fora... I think that all three are only hot in their own minds. I wonder, though, whether either of the two guys started the most famous thread of the fora. Actually, I had a friend in grad school who constantly had students asking for his phone number, a date, etc. He wasn't hot, but he had more charm than any three people I know. He used it in teaching (I sat in on one of his classes), which helped enormously, but sometimes it backfired.

Here I thought this thread would be about the SWELTERING heat in some not-optimally air-conditioned classrooms this summer....

I'll one up you: I assumed it would be about that, but thought it would be more fun if it were about this. Turned out I was wrong. None of these people looks particularly hot, if they are getting these reactions, it is something about their attitudes.

Give me a break. I also thought this would be a summer school related article. I wish it had been.

This is an incredibly stupid article, and honestly, I'm appalled by the woman with the "Life, Love, Relationships" website. But I have come to save the day, by providing all of you with a perfectly legitimate reason to watch this video, and listen to this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0XLKcMoXRE

David Lee Roth tricked me into thinking it was a very sexy profession. Clearly no one told him about all the chalk-dusted clothes and the bad posture I get from lugging heavy books around!

David Lee Roth is a tricky one, all right. I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him.
But that Eddie Van Halen sure can play.

None of these people looks particularly hot, if they are getting these reactions, it is something about their attitudes. You do, however, have to assume that they are, indeed, getting these reactions. My experience is that people who complain about having difficulties because they're "too hot" aren't, and aren't.

I'd like to hear what people who teach on delicate subjects have to say about this quote from the article: "When I have to teach the heavy stuff about race," she says, "I make sure my hair is done, my outfit is cute. I know it's going to be a difficult conversation for students, and if I have a cute dress on, it becomes easier to talk about race and prejudice."
So do cute dresses really make conversations about race easier? Discuss.
