Just wanted to say thanks to the kind Forumites who motivated me to apply for UI. A few months ago I did a search of previous threads here (yes, it actually worked) and applied for unemployment right after classes ended in May. I've started to receive benefits - not much, but it helps. I will be teaching one class this summer, so I won't get anything (maybe $70 or so??) for 10 weeks, but after that, until my Fall classes start, I'll get a few more checks. They were really helpful, and had experience dealing with adjuncts, so everything went smoothly. Just thought I'd pass the info along in case anyone else in Massachusetts is considering applying.

That's good news. A friend of mine is dealing with that as well; she's been on the rolls longer and also just got work with the Census, I think.

Is there something about an extension that is supposed to hopefully going to may go through, or is that Federal, also?

Good luck.
