(no offense to my vegan friends. But I like chocolate cake, and cookies.... not to mention BBQ anything)

You might want to check to see how much your dad is drinking (liquid, I mean, not alcohol).  Dehydration apparently makes such things worse.

I don't confide my medical problems to my family.  I don't have kids, but the fact is that I detest the way people treat me when I'm ill or if there's tragedy in my life.  If I had a life-threatening illness, I might, eventually, want people to know, but it would be on my terms and in my time.  Just imagining the way my sister would react makes me feel nauseous.  It's not always about not wanting to worry someone.
