(Cross-posted on "Leaving Academe") Asking those in administration: I am interested in a position in admin in another state, after having been faculty for over 20 years. How much detail on my non-admin work record should be included on my cv for this position? I am thinking of paring down to positions held with their administrative duties, publications, and references. Can anyone offer experienced guidance? Thanks.

Well, I was in precisely the same situation and did the exact same thing about 11 years ago.   Successfully landed the job I wanted.  I sent a cover letter, CV, and a Resume.  The Cover Letter explained why I was sending both CV and Resume.   The Resume included non-academic professional activities as well as academic history, only nowhere near the detail of the CV.  It worked for me.  YMMV.
