KAUST Faculty Recruitment Process
«
on:
March 04, 2010, 10:01:37 AM »
I have just applied for a faculty position at KAUST, and would like please to know if anybody has information about the recruitment process. For example, how long it usually takes to receive an acknowledgment from them (haven't heard from them yet)? How long it takes from the application time to the interview if shortlisted? Are interviews conducted on-site or somewhere else? etc.
Thank you.

I don't know how long it takes to get feedback in average, but it took one month and half for me between the application and an interview invitation (at one of their Academic Excellence Alliance partners). I have been nominated for a faculty position at KAUST, but I don't know how long it will take to go to the next step. From what I heard, the KAUST process involves two rounds of interviews (plus a preliminary interview in my case): one in the Academic Excellence Alliance partner, and one in Jeddah.
If you just submitted your application, it's normal not to have any feedback for the first month (at least), as for any other university.

Thought the following link might be of interest to prospective faculty members at KAUST:

I have applied for a faculty position at KAUST and I have received an email to confirm that I have been shortlisted.

Hey Zhujda_hfh, how long did it take you to hear that you were shortlisted and also to which program did you apply? I sent my application in Jan and till now have not heard from them. I only know that they asked for recommendation letters from my boss? I hope you can help with this and best of luck in your interviews.
