Can I please get an invite as well!!

We are struggling right now as well with a 7month old on his 3rd ear infection. I just started and the teaching/grading load is overwhelming and grant deadlines are whizzing by.

For the crying baby that won't sleep, our little one was soothed by:
-the vacuum cleaner running, so we would just put it on the floor and let it run indefinitely (not a great idea in an apartment building with downstairs neighbors)
-being put on top of the washing machine (or dryer) in a carseat.
He's still quirky and difficult, but at least he's sleeps!

I've just found this thread; wish I had followed it last year. Is the group still active? I would love to participate.

I'm just a reading bystander, but my sense is that these conversations have shifted over to the pregnancy thread and the "why parents drink" thread...there may be others, too.

   http://chronicle.com/forums/index.php/topic,75817.270/topicseen.html

and

   http://chronicle.com/forums/index.php/topic,67834.1020/topicseen.html

respectively.

And usually, you can just jump in, although it usually makes best sense if you've read at least some of the previous parts of the thread and have poked around on other threads as well.

Thanks, dellaroux! But I was referring to the googlegroup or yahoo group for academic moms outside of the chronicle forums. Was it really created? If so, how I get an invite?
