Training for Online Teaching
«

I am applying for a position where the dean is really pushing to hire someone who can teach online. Through the grapevine I heard that it would behoove me to have taken a class in online teaching so I am "certified". Is there a program that is available to any faculty and not just those already hired at a specific institution?

I've enjoyed the courses through the
Illinois Online Network
, which are offered through the University of Illinois. You can take the courses for graduate credit through the U of I, and if you complete enough, you can get a "Master Online Teacher" certificate.
