Three weeks ago I started on 4,000/day, and I have noticed a complete stop to my previous somewhat chronic joint pain (every few weeks it starts up unless I exercise religiously), my left knee, right wrist and sometimes hip joints have been involved and for several years. Is this just coincidence, or has anyone else noticed this or other changes taking D? I am very hopeful that this might be the cure. My skin also has seems better, less breaking out.

I didn't notice anything of the magnitude that you've identified, but when I started taking Vitamin D I referred to it as the "happy pill". I found it to be a real mood-booster. I know of others who've also believed it to be helpful for their skin, but I didn't have particular skin problems before so I didn't notice a marked difference in that regard.

Funny you should mention it, I take only 1000 IU/day (primary care doc put me on it when I tested as low) and my morning creakiness has entirely disappeared. I wouldn't have noticed it except just this week I read an article about vitamin D and arthritis/back pain. Of course, it could be due to other factors... I also started magnesium about the same time as the vitamin D. Or maybe as you get older, you get less creaky?
