The (base) salary of an assistant professor is between US $ 4,000 - 6,500.

Full professors earn a monthly salary of more than US $ 8,000.

Benefits (Saudi Arabia does not levy taxes on income and benefits earned in Saudi Arabia.)

Repatriation benefits (University provides one-way air tickets to the expatriate faculty member and his eligible dependents [wife and two children] from their official point of origin to Dammam.)

On-campus housing (with essential furnishings and essential utilities, supplied without cost.)

Monthly transportation allowance

Free medical and dental care

Tuition fees for dependent children

Return air-tickets (University provides round-trip air tickets to the expatriate faculty member and his eligible dependents from Dammam to his contract point of origin and back every year at the due time of his annual vacation.)

60-days paid annual vacation

Summer compensation (A faculty member is entitled to receive this type of compensation if requested to execute a summer assignment.)

Short-course compensation

Other compensations - compensation for participating in a University standing committee; official appointment compensation; per-diem (expenses) and round-trip air tickets for national or international business trips

Retirement and end-of-service benefits

Financial support for attending conferences

Funding for research projects

Book-writing grants

Sabbatical leave (one semester)

I received offers from KFUPM and KSU to work as an Assistant Professor. KFUPM offered $3700\month, free housing, and two-year renewable contract. KSU offered $4100\month, 25000 SR annual housing allowance, and one-year renewable contract. I will be grateful if you let me know which offer is better.

Are the salaries mentioned include the living allowance and transportation allowance ?
Regardless the salaries, I would go with the two years contract, peace of mind for 2 years before starting job search again.
