Does anyone have recommendations for a short term furnished apt rental in central London?
I'd like to spend under the federal per diem rate ($300/day) for a two bedroom nonsmoking quiet place with wifi.
Interested to know if people have recommendations.  Near the train stations (e.g. St Pancras) would be helpful, or at a tube stop that is not so far from the trains.  Mostly I'm looking for recommendations for commercial properties that fit the parameters, rather than some friend's apartment.

I'm not sure what you consider short term.  A few days?  A few weeks?  A few months?  I found my last London rental through sabbaticalhomes.com.  Most are for 1 month+, but just glancing at them this minute, I see several properties available for shorter terms.

Possibly the Goodenough Club in Mecklenburgh Square might have something, but I think it's a bit pricey.

A week + is the range.  Definitely shorter than a month.  Hotel alternative for someone traveling on US govt business with a relative whom they would prefer not to share a bedroom if possible.  Lots of stuff on the internet just wondering if anyone out there has any experiences that are relevant.

Well I got hardly any responses, but I seemed to have solved the problem.  I found a place on tripadvisor that had a bunch of good reviews. It is a short term vacation rental from a certified owner on trip advisor.  I talked to the owner on the phone and they were willing to rent me the place for the federal rate.  Normally it rents for a bit more than that but I was staying long enough I got a free day which put it just about even with the fed rate.  Hopefully it will be OK.  I looked at the pics and then checked it out on google maps street view (gotta love that thing) to see the neighborhood.  Looks pretty nice albeit no room service like in the hotel.  Still we will save money by cooking rather than eating out and it is SO much bigger than a hotel room.  I'm not used to doing this.  My last time doing online vacation rental was around 7 years ago at the beach.  The only surprising thing so far is that the owner did not want me to sign any forms, just send her a check for the full amount since we are going in less than a month.

We have a short term rental apartment but we rent it out through an agency:

in case anyone else is looking for one in the future. They have quite a few options.

Update, the apt worked out very well.  It was pretty much as described online and was extremely convenient and quite a good value.  I would do it again if I were traveling with family.
