I have heard that being able to vary one's position is far more important than standing or sitting, per se. There are a couple of adjustable-height desks on the market, but so far they're pretty expensive, I think (I believe I saw something on the NYTimes?). I've been toying with the idea of trying to rig something up that would let me move around, but haven't actually gotten very far yet. I'll come back if I find anything great!
