I have my first phone interview next week and am hoping that you will give me some advise on answering these questions.  This is the position in Fine Art field

1.To become tenured you need to have an excellent and extensive exhibition record, outstanding teaching evaluations, and fulfill your service to the college/university.  How do you plan to balance all of this?

2. What qualities do you have that would make you a leader and what qualities do you have that would make you a team payer among faculty?

3. How do youharness desire, access potential and foster curiosity?

1. "Well, this is what I've done this year..."

2. "Please kill me now." Seriously, I know of now way to answer this question that doesn't make you sound like a complete tool.

3. "In a previous position I was accused of harnessing desire and attempting to access potential during office hours, but the investigation proved inconclusive and I returned to classroom teaching the next semester. I assure you that the rumors were completely unfounded, and that nothing like it will happen again."

3. How do youharness desire, access potential and foster curiosity?

If anyone other than an administrator for whom bureaucratese is a natural language asked this question, you probably want to turn and run.

(Without the "desire" -- which was a critical theory term of the year in the late 1980s -- I suppose the question could be asked of someone whose field is elementary ed or art ed, in which case you should already have answers at the tip of your tongue because of courses in the field you've taken.)
