Oh, so we are discussing a late lamented TV show about a balding detective? Or about a new fangled weapon of war?

For you, Helpful: Cannon pilot intro.  That was a great era for the TV detective--Rockford, Quincy.  Possibly not within the OP's definition of high culture.

I was thinking about that other TV detective, Kodak, myself.

You know, TV Detective shows are some of the best shows in television.  Kojak, Rockford, Quincy, Monk, Columbo, Jessica Fletcher, House (a detective show disguised as a medical show)--- I love 'em!

I think this is a much better topic.
