Chime to the language problem and to a bad google translation.
The gad_spouse and I are quite used to cross-cultural miscommunication, as we deal with people in many nations, with many different backgrounds. Sometimes we can identify the source nation (and therefore the culture and linguistic nuances) and make appropriate adjustments, sometimes it just plain goes wrong. For example, I was flown in to interview for a position in Brooklyn, NY.... at the interview it was almost impossible to understand them, their mannerisms and customs were a far cry from what I was used to, and to boot, I had to show my passport! [/joke]
Interviewing for a position in a foreign culture is difficult, but only slightly moreso than any interview.
Good luck to all

Don't forget, that cat hair can come in handy as a good luck charm!
