Nothing says, "I love you" better during the holidays than liquor.  You get chocolates, doo-dads, lunches, and clothing for people you feel obligated to do something for, but people you really care about deserve their own little measure of holiday spirits.

But please be careful with a gift of liquor. (a) Some people do not drink. (b) A religious person may be offended by this gift. and (c) Your school may not allow liquor in particular buildings even if it is a gift and not opened.

If I lived in a state that readily allowed liquor shipments, a lot of wine-loving folks would be receiving wine, including myself.  The state I work in is fine with it, but I'm not sure I want to try being one of those who ships wine to the work address.  Instead, I have bought some Body Shop sets and some Williams-Sonoma candy items for a couple colleagues.  Those closer to me will receive their favorite wines and some special items.
