I'll read the book.  I won't want to.  I'll resist as best I can.  But I know, I just know, that I'll. Read. The.  Books.

Someone needs to talk to me about this series now because I'm driving everyone else crazy. Cast the movie?  Perfect casting-- any actor, any age.....
We should get to this.

Rand al'Thor: a younger version of Kyle MacLachlan
Cadsuane: Cate Blanchett

Oh, I have totally cast several members of a movie version.  It would be impossible to do, though.  LOTR plus something else with lots of extra books.

That artist that I like totally has the images DOWN.  I don't remember if I put a link to his work... but when I look at the pix, it is totally what I picture them all looking like, except Morgase.  I didn't like his rendition of her.

Listen, zombie. Believe me. What I could tell you--you with your silly hands leaking sweat on your growth-stocks portfolio. Look, dead daddy.  See for instance that rotten girl? In the crowd over there, that one gaping at her gods. One rotten girl in the city of the future.... watch. (James Tiptree)

But the artist that did the covers of the books (at least the paperbacks) is technically horrible (people are misshapen, with giant heads and shoulders and really short legs, or Morgaine looks like she's about 3 feet tall next to Lan - NO sense of scale.)

Oh, I agree!  The covers are awful.  Nothing makes me NOT pick up a book at the store like seeing a cover with that art on it, nowadays.

But the Seamus guy I linked way above is pretty interesting.  I think he did a graphic novel somewhere-- maybe on the forums-- of the characters.  I don't mean to spam the board with his stuff.  But I don't want to post plot spoilers since so many folks haven't read the book yet.  :)

Why do women in sci-fi and fantasy ALWAYS look porny?  I mean, I guess I can see Berelain and Graendel, but everybody else?  YUCK.  All their lips and breasts are creepily bloated.  And all their lips are half-parted.  They're just...ew, a little bit.

But he did get Moghedien down to a T.  (Based on that picture, I think she should be played by Christina Ricci!)
