I am still in my pjs, and considering dressing before we start the cooking-fest in an hour or so.

That is awesome. I changed into my clothes around noon, but "clothes" consists of yoga pants and an old tee. Only a step up from pjs.

Perfect!  I took a shower a few hours ago, but I just replaced the other pjs with new pjs.

My SO doesn't understand my fascination with pjs, or why, when I get home from teaching, the first thing I do is put on yoga pants and a sweatshirt.  He claims that he's perfectly comfortable in regular clothes.  I claim that's impossible.  There's nothing more comfortable than yoga pants or pjs.  Period.

My most recent activity was to eat a bunch of shrimp cocktail and take a nap with the cat.  I'm finding it a little hard to take an entire day off, which makes me think that I must need it even more than I thought.

I toss on sweatpants (I call them comfypants) and a t-shirt when I get home. It's comfortable, and somewhat symbolic, to me anyway, to strip away the workclothes.

Well, howdy, folks.  I'm back from dinner, and a nap, and ordering a birthday present for a friend.  And playing with the cat, who is feeling a little ignored.  All is well hereabouts; the restaurant where I met my friend had lots of good stuff of the just-like-home sort.

I'm deciding whether or not I want to go midnight shopping at Nearby Outlet Mall.

I'm deciding if I want to go shopping tomorrow with the enormous swarms, or wait for the weekend.  But I've already bought one gift online.

I've done most of my shopping the first part of the week, having decided that I wanted no part of the crowds. Instead I'm going to grade papers tomorrow.

I'm trying to decide whether I want to have dinner all over again, or just dessert.  And if I have dessert, do I want to whip the rest of the heavy whipping into whipped cream for the pie, or save for some awesome cocktail.

Unfortunately, my dog ate my Cocktail Therapy book.  :/

Well, I cooked a turkey and other typical stuff, and dear SO and I have eaten dinner and a slice of peach pie.  (Dear SO is a southerner, and got to choose the pie.)

Now I am watching The Godfather on TV, and I am trying to decide whether to grade some papers, or take the whole night off.  I am leaning toward the latter.

I might watch TV for a bit.  If I decide on dessert, there is fruit, and there is ice cream.  Anything else would mean finding a store that is open, which might be a bit of a challenge at this hour.

The siren call of the video game is luring me, however.

Hello all. I am watching the Rockettes on PBS and really loving it. It is excellent. I am also heating the oven for more appetizers which are delicious. Systeme_d I wish I was at your house and could have some peach pie. Yummy!

Oh, peach pie sounds delicious.  I just had pumpkin and it was very good, in spite of being store-bought.

Take the night off!  I am.  I'm flipping through the channels but will probably end up watching a movie, reading my trashy novel and falling asleep on the couch with the cat.

Peach pie does sound very tempting.  I think tomorrow I will get some, and some cream and cinnamon and enjoy it.  But for now I think I'll get some ice cream.  It's a day to eat lots, I suppose.

Shopping tomorrow will be local grocery, rather than Wal-Mart or Mall shopping.  There are local grocery stores still in this area.

The holiday alone is awesomeness.  The child went off with her father to the grandparents'.

Last night: got some work done, watched too many youtube videos, went upstairs and climbed into bed at 8:30, and had long-overdue pity party for myself, also did some pining over Unavailable Man.  Something distracted me about 20 minutes later; I got up and got back to work (crush of deadlines over the next three weeks). Knocked off around midnight and reread Hawthorne's A Wonder Book to see what I'd remember; it had been one of my favorites as a kid, & I'd forgotten all about Marygold, who cried so bitterly when her father turned her flowers to ugly, heavy gold.  Poured myself some cognac and fell asleep before I could drink it.

Today:  Slept late, let the roomba clean the house, had a 5-mi run, more pining, more work, more videos, finally scrubbed scuffmarks off the kitchen floor from when three little girls had a dress-up party in fake high heels. Took out family pix and remembered my late aunt. Opened Gaddis's JR, which I've been meaning to read for about 15 years, and am finding it full of cheap shots but still funny.

Back to work now for me. I'm not one bit sorry I didn't knock myself out cooking & cleaning for other people, though I wish I'd thought to lay in some chocolate.

Way too much dinner, check; two (two!) servings of pumpkin pie, check. I'm lounging in front of the TV watching a movie. Tomorrow there will be piles of grading and various other catch-up work - no shopping for me, thank you very much. I am, however, pleased to report that I haven't done a speck of school-related work the whole day today.

Hmm, I wonder if I need a little turkey sandwich...

It sucked.

My family was all together---sans moi. Hedgepig and I broke up, but I didn't tell anyone because it was recent, so I didn't get invites from friends.

I thought I might have enjoyed the day, but I didn't.

I also managed to get locked out today in my robe. I managed to break in by being clever, but still.
