Should I clarify?

Hi everyone,
I just returned from a campus visit where I presented my research to the faculty and doctoral students. During the presentation, a faculty member asked me a question that I did not answer to hu's satisfaction. We went back and forth on the issue a few times, but I could tell that hu was not convinced. Other than that, I think the presentation went well.
During the trip back home, I was able to think of a clearer way to convince hu about my position (I'm confident that this new response would satisfy hu). Should I email hu and clarify or should I forget about it? I want to write but am concerned that I'll come across as desperate for the job.
Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks for your help.

I would. But I would start the e-mail with something to the effect of, "Professor X, I enjoyed our conversation yday about [this topic]. Mulling over our conversation, I would simply add..." No one expects you to have all of the answers. But making the extra effort to find an answer or consider the problem more deeply until you have a better answer is a sign of a good scholar. At least, fwiw, I would look at it that way.
