Check out the rare isotope rap:

"Protons define the element, its chemistry..."

Um, isn't the chemistry of an element defined by its electronic structure?

At first I thought you were arguing that protons don't define the element...

Also, I never decided which element I was going to be for Halloween... Hmmm... Einsteinium might be easy if you didn't put the right amount of electrons on dressed like Einstein under your orbitals...

Of course they don't.  The atomic number does.

Are you messing with me? I suck at chemistry but I thoughts protons = atomic number. My brain has gone into full bore dissertation rot.

Would you believe I had to look up the units of energy today on Wikipedia?

You are always so straightforward and serious that I know I should never doubt you.

And yet, this is a chemistry thread, isn't it?  I think of GH as the Spork of chemistry.

So is fluorine, but it's a halogen

Sorry, that's what's playing in the background to Blocky's great interest.

You're exposing your child to chemistry?  Is that child abuse?

I am sick and tired of following my dreams.  I think I'll just ask them where they are going and catch up with them later.  Mitch Hedberg

I figure I'm already down on the county's list for exposure to physics (he loves magnets) and botany (oh, what a great toy leaves are) so why not chemistry?
