I am very new to these forums, and don't really read them often. Several days ago I posted something off-handed, and wow, suddenly I am the talk of the town.

Let me set the record straight, in case any idle minds have any strange ideas about me (I don't know why I am trying to clear my name, because I have no presence here anyway, and frankly will not be posting much at all in future, but whatever). Here we go: I do not hate women. I do not think women are a problem in academia. I wrote what I did about the woman professor who was inappropriate toward her guy undergrads for no other reason than it was the only case I know (personally, and very close second-hand) where that sort of thing happened. Needless to say, "inappropriateness" is indeed a matter of perspective, and everyone is capable of it, men and women both.

Now am I exonerated?

Seriously, I think SOME people on these forums should have better things to do with their time than to muse about people who post here infrequently.
