My wife is leaving tomorrow. Alone. For her work. Leaving me with the kids for nine days. Two boys, 7 and 5. I. Am. Going. To. Die. Where can I hide both from them and from my job?

I remember this happening to me as a child. . .  I'm assuming if she's the primary child caretaker, she's also the chef.  Don't be a hero.  Order pizza.  Remember, they are more afraid of you than you are of them.

Thanks! Yes, we have frozen pizza. Taco Bell tonight. And for my night class, with babysitter--hello, Dominos! (The kids, growing up in the South, don't know bad pizza from good anyway.). I used to be a good cook, but with kids around, no more stir-fry (Daddy, it's all mixed together, and the green stuff [pea pods] touched the chicken, waaahhh).

Still, hanging and watching some football with the fellas is a pretty good way to spend a Sunday.

I ordered a bulk supply of these for the inhabitants of the Hiding Place.  One size fits all.

The Hiding Place is probably the one-and-only true home of the Snuggie.

The Hiding Place is dry, right? I mean that as in there aren't any leaky roofs. Of course I know, and appreciate, that it isn't dry in the way that a county can be.

Of course I know, and appreciate, that it isn't dry in the way that a county can be.

I would then have to hide from the dry places. Blue laws are bad enough.

Tonight I hide from my work, my feelings of guilt at not having started it earlier, and my uncertainty about What Is Going To Happen in Life in General.

Go 'way!

I have a new bunny-hug (aka hoodie, aka hooded sweatshirt).  It has the softest lining ever.  I will be cloning it for anyone who wants to retreat within its gracious folds.

Can I be chatty and still hide from the outside world?

Either way, please pass the booze.

Can someone hand me a large alcoholic drink and then pretend that I am not here and the world doesn't exist?
