I'm borrowing the hiding space's copy of "Little Women."  I'll be curled up in the big wing-back chair with a cup of hot chocolate.  I need a good cry.

Finally! Someone found out how to get into the Room of Requirement! YAY!

Hmm. Let's see. I need a really comfortable chair here, got it, a really soft and comfy comforter here, got it, and one really quiet and loving fuzzy kitty here, got it. Oh and a Mercedes Lackey book that I haven't read, and maybe a Dick Francis. Oh, there they are! I'm set! Don't bother me until I'm done reading! I'll put up flags when I need nourishment!

Thank you, OP!

We are having the all-campuses staff development extravaganza on our campus today.  I hid out in my office all morning, and signed up to go to some sessions this afternoon, but if y'all don't mind, I think I'd rather come in here........

Am fighting with SO and have no desire to be at home or to teach.  Kittens and booze, please.

This is my new favorite place.  I have a lot to hide from right now.  Mostly deadlines.

Did I hear there used to be a library in here somewhere?

Maybe it's hiding.

I brought the bourbon and the bon bons. I'm hiding from being around Mr. Undisciplined, whose dissertation is due very, very soon.

<bounds in, knocking crap over with bag overstuffed with ungraded exams>

Hello?

I only read the OP, but I have to join in. This morning, I almost cried on my way to work. Why? I'm no doctor, but I'd diagnose it as "emotional exhaustion." First year, non-tt, 3 classes, all new preps. New town, new job, blah blah blah.

Then, I got to the gym, hoping it would snap me out of it. I cried during my warm up. The workout eventually did make me feel better, but I'm still living in denial about the considerable stuff I have to do in the next two weeks.

Instead of actually doing anything, what did I do this evening? I made an apple tart. It's in the oven now and smells divine. Maybe after that, and another glass of wine, I'll start that grading.
