There is actually a fifth photo in the series where my husband extracts the thing from the hound's maw and chases me around the house with it, but we're both in the pic, so I didn't post it.

Did your Basset hound take the photo?

I know she looks real smart, but no. Hubby is chasing me around with the camera in one hand and the drooly donut in the other. It's actually only his arm that you can see in the photo, now that I look at it.

It was a chocolate-oreo-frosted/encrusted donut by the way, which is why we had to take it away. Had it been a glazed one, she could have happily finished it off.

Prof Smartypants what great pictures of your basset hound!!!! I love them!!!! You can just see the pure happiness on her face as she is eating the Krispy Kremes. This is a breed of dog that really loves to eat.

Have you started your apple crisp yet? We need more food to feed all the hiders.

Oooh. yes. Apple crisp for everyone - it's also got cinnamon-infused craisins, and some cardamom and ginger in the topping. I also brought along some vanilla ice cream and a 12-pack of maple porter. Enjoy.

I'm cracking a cold beer and hiding from the article review I'm supposed to submit on Monday. Where's my fluffy throw?

Yes. Saranac. I found it in a "winter mix", which I thought was appropriate. Not sure if you can get it by itself. Probably regional

We're doing gyros, hamburgers, and Philly cheesesteaks around here. Who wants?

<whispers to avoid waking up sleeping hiders>

Is anyone still up in the hiding place? I brought chocolate custard. There's plenty for everyone. I'm sure it'll be delicious cold for breakfast, too.

Oh, I can get Saranac at the local beer shop... and it's about time for a new case of beer anyway.  I shall have to investigate.

Gyros?  Excellent!  Thank you!  It will go well with the avgolemono soup I just cooked up.  There's a full crockpot of it on the table if anyone's interested.

I think today I'm hiding from the ever-growing pile of clothes needing ironing.  If I don't iron soon I won't have much to wear to work, but I just don't feel like doing that right now.
