Ugh. Looks like I've come down with a mild case. A child in my son's daycare had it, so he was exposed and so was I. My son is taking tamiflu (so is my husband) and he just got vaccinated today. But my doctor wouldn't give me tamiflu because I'm pregnant (not sure about that...seems like pregnant women are getting tamiflu). Anyway, I'm calling my OB tomorrow about the tamiflu. I really don't feel that bad; just a little under the weather.
What I'm worried about is caring for my son. It seems like he should be ok since he is on the tamiflu and that is supposed to stop the growth of the virus, but I don't know.
UCprof, your colleague will probably be exposed sooner or later -- whether it is through you or someone else. Really, it is her responsibility to do the right thing and get vaccinated, although your concern is commendable.

Take care, Lemonbar. Hope it doesn't get too bad, and that your family stays well.

Because, you know, that stuff on the syllabus is like, in writing, and there are so many ways you can, like, read that, but when the guys who sit by you in class, like, you know, must know what's really going on, right? -- AmLitHist, channelling student
