So, after years of reading just the first paragraph of most articles and scavenging leftover print copies from my co-workers, I finally decided to commit and pay for my very own online subscription.  Trouble was, I forgot I had created a free account a long time ago.  So after I clicked, "Purchase Now" and entered all my creditcard info, I was not able to create an account to use to access my new subscription.  I received an error message that said my email address was already in use.  Once I did successfully log in with this account, there was no way for me to connect my paid subscription to it.

I did not receive a confirmation email with any info about this purchase, I can't find a phone number to call, and I've emailed the "help" address to no avail.  All I have is the $80 charge on my bank statement.

Can anyone help me?  Is there a magical subscription link somewhere that I've missed?

I realize this is a forum for questions about a forum and not a subscription.  I'm just frustrated and not sure what to do, aside from calling the bank and canceling the whole thing.  So my many apologies for clogging the boards here, but my heartfelt advance thanks to anyone who can help.

Segovia30,

I've asked someone from circulation to help you out. I think the problem you're having is caused by a security feature that locks already-existing accounts so that another user can't post comments on the site or in the forums under your username.

Best wishes,

Thank you for this post and for the emails this afternoon.  My account is now linked to my subscription and I am a happy camper!  Thanks again.

I assume your library does not subscribe to the online version?  If they do subscribe to the online version then there ought to be a way for you to have access through a proxy server.
