Woot! This news arrives on the same that my daughter, having gone through a story similar to mischt's for five years, let me know that she finally has worked through her months of finding herself again -- and has found her first healthy relationship as well. She also found out that there are more than a few good men. Congratulatons, mischt!

(But crumpet, is your situation recent? Are you okay? Need a support thread, too?)

My long distance partner and I ended it. I'm still broken-hearted. Its hard to get support in that phase of breakup. I know what's right, but its hard.

Thanks everyone for all your advice and support two years ago. It feels like a very lonely life as an academic sometimes and its nice to know that there are others who have been there and found a way to do good work and have a good life too.
