Thanks for the advice so far!  I'm really salivating over the idea of living in a place like Charleston.

What about the students, though?  I'm a little worried that the COC website talks so much about how fun it is there.  Most importantly, if the students are snowflakes and I have a problem, can I count on the administration there to back me up?  (You can probably tell I've been reading too many posts from In the Classroom.)

Also, could I live out in the country and still have a reasonable commute (say half an hour)?
