How do people handle research proposals for multi-year postdocs when you want to propose two different projects (expand diss into book and then embark on new project) and you only have 3 pages????
You need to include the meat & potatoes stuff about what parts of diss are in and what will be added, and meth. details of new project. But you can barely even talk about the projects in that amount of space.

Give short shrift to newer project?

Writing samples: if I have applied for this postdoc before and sent a draft of a forthcoming article, should I send it again (because it's my only pub) or send a diss chapter in order to send them something different? I should note that the copy edits of the article have some track changes in them that I can't take out - might that look too unprofessional? In which case I could send the latest Word copy I have.
